Oh, the mighty liver. This organ is your body’s primary “filter,” and in some healing systems is considered the seat of anger and frustration. With the amount of work the liver completes each day, it’s nice to know there are natural ways to offer support with herbs like Milk Thistle. The liver processes all of the hormones, medications, and toxins that pass through your body and produces glucose, your brain and muscles’ primary fuel. The liver is also the only part of the human body that can re-grow itself! You can lose up to 2/3 of your liver to disease or injury and it will regenerate. Most people would, of course, prefer to avoid this experience. With an organ as amazing as the liver, take a look at how you can offer support with the benefits of Milk Thistle. [Read more →]

Insomnia? Try herbs to help you sleep better!
Did you know that sleep is the single most important factor in your daily health? Sleep rejuvenates and repairs you physically and mentally, and most of us don’t get nearly enough. The old adage of “eight hours a night” is a good starting point, but many people require more. If you are sleep deprived, it has been shown that three consecutive nights of nine and half hours of sleep or more is the magic bullet to reverse the damage. This of course can be difficult to achieve. Stress, physiological imbalance and uncomfortable conditions can keep you awake at night. So what can you do to help restore balance? [Read more →]

I Think I Have a Parasite. Now What?
Chris
October 21st, 2009 · Cleansing and Detox

Parasites often make their way into our bodies while we garden or enjoy fresh picked produce.
Parasites….It is something most of us don’t like to think about. People say “Worms are something that only dogs or cats can get”, or “People don’t get worms unless they live in squalid, third world conditions”. Well if our pets can get them, then they are close enough to us that we can get them as well. Parasites have a long tradition of living amongst healthy thriving organisms and they are not about to give that up. At least not without a fight. [Read more →]

Raymon Grace is a guide for intuition through dowsing.
Intuition is a fascinating part of the human makeup. Some of us have an incredibly heightened sense of intuition and some of us don’t really even recognize it. Hanna Kroeger was one of us whose intuition was well developed and harnessed. She would never have called herself a medical intuitive, but as the alternative healing community embraces this title, it is clear that Hanna was very easily described this way. She could use her intuition to see what ailed a person before her pendulum confirmed it and often it was with amazing results after allopathic medicine had run its course. She used her intuition to find just the right formulas for her products, fine tuning their synergistic balance by the combination of ingredients. She was on a mission to heal everyone who came across her path, even long after her passing.
Today, one of the great teachers of intuition [Read more →]
Home Remedy for Cellulite Removal

Hanna shared so many recipes with us and many were not just for modern ailments! Sometimes women would request that Hanna share a home remedy for beauty and cellulite was at the top of the list. Here is what Hanna recommended:

“Eggplant is very useful for cellulite. It first has to be sliced and placed in slightly salted water for about 20 minutes or more. This will remove the bitterness. The skin is extremely helpful. Peel the eggplant one half inch thick. Boil the peelings until done. Season with kelp or dulse. This is excellent for cellulite.” [Read more →]

How Toxic Are Your Cosmetics?

Are your cosmetics toxic?
It is time that you inform yourself about the products you use on your body. You may be surprised by the amount of hazardous chemicals that fill the ingredient list of your favorite lotion. The cleaning products under your sink are not the only products to worry about breathing in. More important are the products you actually put on your skin, hair or teeth. Now is the time to go through your bathroom and see exactly what your shampoos and lotions are made of. Most likely you will not even know what these chemicals are and how harmful they may or may not be. However, Cosmetic Database makes it very easy to find out what damage you may be doing to yourself. Pet Health

Pet health can be improved through herbal supplements!
When I first heard of someone using herbs and other natural supplements for their pet’s health, I thought it sounded a little strange. But I immediately realized that the only strange thing was my reaction. Dogs and other animals have physical bodies just like us. Why not give them the same benefits of healing herbs that we give ourselves? As I learned more, I became aware that most animals because of their limited diets (compared to the average human), have much more sensitive digestive systems and therefore are much more sensitive to natural treatments. This means that natural treatments for your pets are even more effective than they are for humans using less of a dosage even after taking body size into account. [Read more →]
