Exercise is one of the best things you can do for heart health. Exercise helps to lower blood pressure and stress while raising HDL (good) cholesterol in your body. Getting up and moving for 30 minutes a day, 5 days a week seems like a lot of time to cram into your already busy schedule but do the best you can! Exercise is medicine for your heart and helps to promote weight loss and reduce the risk of many heart problems like stroke and heart attack.  Take a walk on your lunch break, choose a parking spot far from the doors of a store, and find time to get moving to promote heart health.

Asparagus—increase your intake of this vegetable to assist in dissolving oxalic acid crystals lodged in the kidneys.

Dandelion Root—boil 2 tablespoons in 1 quart apple juice for 10 minutes. Strain and drink 6 ounces 3 times a day. Kroeger Herb makes a Dandelion Root tincture if you’d rather have a concentrated dose.

Beets—boil 5 whole, medium-sized beets in 3 quarts water for 1 hour. Drink 7 ounces of the water 3 times daily.

Chamomile and Knotgrass— Mix equal parts of these herbs in water, heat, and drink daily for 5 weeks. Drink a little all day, do not add ice.

Hanna shared her remedies for sinus issues in her book Ageless Remedies from Mother’s Kitchen. This listing is a compilation of remedies for sinuses as well as remedies for hay fever. Take a look and get some relief!

Home Remedies for Sinuses

Use vegetables as a remedy for sinuses!

Use vegetables as a remedy for sinuses!

Horseradish-incorporate fresh or prepared horseradish into your daily diet to help dry up your sinuses. Hanna recommended eating it fresh from the jar but if you can’t handle that, try adding it to a sandwich.

Black pepper-Add fresh ground black pepper to one teaspoon of honey. Take this as often as needed.

Grape Juice—sip organic, low sugar grape juice (12 ounces) two times daily for six weeks.

Vegetable broth-Every half hour drink 4 ounces of pure water. Do this for 2 days then make yourself a vegetable broth and drink 6 hours on the full hour and 4 ounces of water on the half hour.

Carrots-Cut 2 carrots and cover with 1 quart water. Boil for 20 minutes and drink this broth as an exchange to the vegetable broth listed above.
