Use natural home remedies for your feet for relief!

Aching Feet–sprinkle hot peppers on the soles of your feet and put on your socks. Hot peppers contain benzene which is needed for proper functioning of the feed and sinuses. Try massaging natural oils (like sassafras or almond) onto your feet daily to relieve aches and address severe dry skin.

Pain in Feet–Soothe your sensitive feet with lemon juice. If the soles look red and irritated, try this simple home remedy! Add 3 teaspoons of lemon juice (or vinegar) to 1 quart of water. Rinse your feet in this solution 2 times a day to soothe and refresh sensitive skin.

Sore Feet—Mash ripe tomatoes and secure to the soles of your feet (or try bandaging on a few slices of tomatoes) and leave on over-night. Soreness should be gone in the morning.

Swollen Feet–If feet are swollen in the morning: boil 2 ounces fern in 3 quarts water for 30 minutes. Strain and allow the blend to cool so it is comfortable for your feet. Bathe your feet in this solution. If your feet are swollen at night: use a compress of vinegar water. One of our favorite remedies for swelling is cabbage! Finely grate the cabbage and wrap it into a clot to apply to the swollen area. This remedy works best when left on over-night.

Athlete’s Foot–Bathe feet in rosehips tea or lemon juice.

These folk and home remedies from Hanna are great ways to keep your feet happy but consider a simple foot soak as well! Not only does a warm tub of water soothe aches and pains but it can also relieve tension and relax your body. Try mixing a quarter cup of Epsom salts and a few drops of peppermint essential oil into a warm foot bath to bring relief to mind and body!
