Home Remedies for Kidney Stones
Asparagus—increase your intake of this vegetable to assist in dissolving oxalic acid crystals lodged in the kidneys.Dandelion Root—boil 2 tablespoons in 1 quart apple juice for 10 minutes. Strain and drink 6 ounces 3 times a day. Kroeger Herb makes a Dandelion Root tincture if you’d rather have a concentrated dose.
Beets—boil 5 whole, medium-sized beets in 3 quarts water for 1 hour. Drink 7 ounces of the water 3 times daily.
Chamomile and Knotgrass— Mix equal parts of these herbs in water, heat, and drink daily for 5 weeks. Drink a little all day, do not add ice.
Celery Juice—fresh celery juice will assist in keeping the kidneys functioning properly as well as breaking up kidney stones.
Recipe for kidney stones—Mix 7 ounces dark grape juice (sugar free, organic) with ½ teaspoon cream of tartar. Drink 2 ounces, 3 times daily before meals.
Hanna recommended that anyone who suffers from chronic kidney stones should check their intake of Vitamin A; she believed deficiency in this vitamin resulted in kidney stones.
Herbal Remedies for Kidney Stones
KST—this herbal tea from Kroeger Herb is a blend of Knotgrass herb and Chamomile flower (as recommended by Hanna in the remedies above). Take the guess work out of how to blend each of these properly with this loose blended tea.
KDY—this blend of Parsley leaf, Parsley root, Marshmallow root, and Uva Ursi leaf is a diuretic cleanse for the kidneys.
