sunburn. For the itch or stinging sensation following a bug bit, apply a drop of lavender essential oil to bring immediate relief. For sunburn, add a few drops of the oil to your favorite emollient lotion to soothe the burn and help relieve the redness. Another remedy with lavender for sunburn is to add 10 drops to 1 cup of powdered milk in a container with an air-tight lid, shake and allow to sit over-night; add this combination to a lukewarm bath for relief. For heat rash, make a fusion of aloe vera and lavender by adding 5 drops of oil to a half-ounce of aloe. This blend can be applied directly to the skin and will cool and reduce inflammation.
