Make Your Own Interferon

Sara Beth

September 4th, 2012 · Hanna Kroeger, Healthy Living

Interferon is part of the immune system. It is a product of white cells and fibroblasts and prevents viruses from penetrating body cells….How does interferon work?  It appears to function primarily as an intracellular messenger.  Once a cell under viral attack produces interferon, the protein migrates through the cell membrane, spreading to other cells not yet attacked, triggering the production of antiviral proteins which are believed to block or interfere with viral reproduction.”

-Hanna Kroeger, excerpt from God Helps Those Who Help Themselves

Put in a blender or mix thoroughly by hand:

1 cup cottage cheese

2 tablespoons walnut or almond oil

This mixture is the foundation recipe and can be varied by adding these items to the mixture: [Read more →]

Hanna Kroeger, Grandmother of Health

Hanna’s Herbal Combinations are special for their healing properties, specific ratios, and purity. This excerpt from Instant Herbal Locator explains how Hanna learned to balance herbal formulas.

I used to mix herbs without rhyme or reason. If mullein is good for the lungs, why not add something else like shave grass for the kidney and peppermint for taste?

Then I met Rev. Dr. Houston who taught me how to mix herbs properly. [Read more →]

Home Remedies from the Kitchen

Fresh lettuce is anti-inflammatory internally and topically.

Many home remedies and folk remedies exist outside the realm of science because they’ve worked for hundreds or thousands of years. Hanna offers so much guidance in her books for how herbs, spices, and foods can bring good health without side effects and today we have some remedy offerings from Whole Living that complement Hanna’s remedies.

Sprains and Strains: Lettuce

For swelling and inflammation, Hanna tells us to finely shred cabbage and wrap our knees, ankles, etc. in the cloth containing the cabbage overnight. Lettuce can also provide anti-inflammatory effects because it is rich in lactucin, a calming alkaloid. Use lettuce leaves topically (and eat a few leaves as well!) to attain these benefits. Each color has a specific function for the body in Color Therapy.

Each color has a specific function for the body in Color Therapy.

Color Therapy can help to balance a person’s energy wherever the body may be lacking whether physical, emotional, spiritual, or mental. In the Canon of Medicine, Avicenna wrote that “Color is an observable symptom of disease” and developed a chart that related to the temperature and physical condition of the body. In his view red moved the blood, blue or white cooled it, and yellow reduced muscular pain and inflammation. In The Seven Spiritual Causes of Ill Health and Help One Another Hanna explains how spiritual congestion can manifest itself as illness in the body and should be cleared with holistic therapies, including color therapy. Take a look at what healing quality each color has for the body here. [Read more →]
