Cucumbers are a delightful vegetable with many medicinal uses. Cucumbers are very good for the skin, especially the complexion. Either eaten or used topically, they cool and heal.
  • One third teaspoon freshly ground nutmeg, one teaspoon honey, and 4 to 5 ounces hot water taken three mornings in a row, then three mornings without will heal boils and pimples on the skin. You must repeat the 3-on-3-off schedule 9 times for results.
  • For facial pimples, make a mask of Epsom salts and water and pat on the afflicted area before going to bed. Do this every night until pimples are gone.
  • Thuja, Staph, or Arsenicum Homeopathics are great for skin problems.
  • Coconut oil is very good to massage the scalp. It can be massaged all over the body in the summer and can successfully ease skin troubles like itching, eczema, and dermatitis.
  • Used fresh on the skin, garlic has been known to heal acne and other skin problems. Rubbing raw garlic on warts and corns is said to heal them. It promotes sweating and acts like an antihistamine. Rubbing garlic directly on an insect sting relieves pain as well.
  • Myrrh has been found by the Arabic people to help skin conditions such as athlete’s foot, eczema, cracked skin, ringworm, and wrinkles. (Please use a carrier oil when applying myrrh directly to skin).
  • Make a salve of soybean lecithin for red, itchy, scaly skin, as in psoriasis, and also take 2 tablespoons by mouth. Learn how to make your own salves from our post!
  • Parsley can be chewed raw to freshen the breath and promote healthy skin.
  • Walnut leaves are useful for acne on the face.
  • Dandelion can be used for acne anywhere on the body.
  • Nettle and strawberry leaves, used singly or together as a tea, can help with acne.
  • Strawberry leaf tea is used for eczema and club moss behind the ear will also benefit it.
  • Pansy tea (Violet triealas) can be used for eczema in children.
  • Evening primrose oil can be used for eczema, eruptions, and blisters.
  • For blemishes make a paste of spirits of camphor in soda bicarb. Pat on the area and leave overnight. Use for one week.
  • For facial acne try homeopathjic Bellis perennris (daisy).
  • Boil buttermilk and, when thickened, add honey to make a thick cream. Apply to the face or wherever acne is a problem.
