Herbs for Pets

As a continuation of employee favorites and product picks, we thought it would be an interesting topic to share the herbs we use for the health of our pets. People aren’t the only ones who can benefit from their use! Herbs for pets range from those specific to an organ’s health or even to help flush parasites from their system! Take a look!

My miniature schnauzers are typical representatives of the breed: friendly and energetic with weak livers. I have been able to help my two aged schnauzers keep their livers young with the use of Milk Thistle. I mix half a capsule of the herb into their dinner a few times a week and they don’t even notice a change in taste. While it’s hard to tell that there is an improvement going on with the function of an internal organ, I can say that their behavior and attitude is puppy-like, even though they’re 14 in a few months!

If your pet experiences difficulty with liver health, Milk Thistle is a wonderful product to consider. To learn more about the function of the liver and the importance of supporting it with Milk Thistle, check out this post.

Kimberly’s beagle Roxy has been enjoying herbs as well! After a recent trip to the vet to have a growth checked out, Kimberly decided to try the CYT Formula from Kroeger Herb before committing to a $900 surgery to have the benign tumor removed from Roxy’s body. To Kimberly’s delight, after 2 weeks of giving the herb to her pet, Roxy’s tumor has shrunk to a quarter of its original size. Peanut butter and capsule and a half of CYT Formula each day has proven to be a beneficial herb for this pet!

Several other employees have given the Wormwood Combination and Rascal to address parasites, and even some of our homeopathic remedies! We love our furry friends and appreciate their good health so much we’ve created a section of our website dedicated to their health. Curious what other products and herbs for pets are out there? Take a look! And, check out this recent blog post that helps you choose a great food for your pet and you can even find a DIY insect repellent to put on your pet’s collar this spring and summer here.

This blog post is meant to outline the products that employees love and trust in their daily lives. This information is in no way meant to substitute for veterinary visits and the products mentioned above are not used to treat or prevent any disease. Always consult a veterinarian before beginning an herbal program with your pet.

      Hi Roberta,
Probably not an essential oil. Look at environmental toxins, parasitic and/or viral infection as possible factors from what Hanna has taught us. We would encourage you to work with a Hanna Kroeger practitioner to supplement what you are already doing with your vet. Take a look at our practitioner directory: https://hannakroeger.com/index.php/practitioners
