DIY Bath Salts

September 17th, 2012 · 1 Comment · home remedy

A soothing bath can help to relieve tension, give you some much needed “me” time, and provide some moments of calm in an otherwise hectic day. Check out our DIY recipe for making your own bath salts and set aside some time to soothe your body.

What you’ll need:

How to:

  • Combine salts and baking soda.
  • Mix 1 cup of the dry mixture with the essential oil of your choice.
  • Add it to the rest of the dry mixture and blend well.
  • Add petals.

Once your DIY bath salts are complete, store them in an airtight container and add a half to ¾ cup of the salts to your next hot bath. To get the most from your spa-like relaxation at home, use an oil once you’ve patted your body dry to seal in the moisture from the bath. Consider jojoba to soften, nourish, and protect or sweet almond or apricot oil to soothe and moisturize.

Doubling or tripling this recipe could be a great way to get ahead of holiday shopping and give a gift that is unique and healing!
