Congestion in the body’s organs can cause a multitude of health concerns and Hanna encouraged us to use the foods, herbs, and spices in our kitchens to remedy this issue. Here we share Hanna’s recommendations for decongesting your stomach.
Hanna said, “A sick stomach makes crippled, stiff hands.” For sick stomachs (ulcers, pain, discomfort, or suffering from stomach distress) the following foods are particularly healing:
- Carrots
- Coconut milk
- Eggplant
- Flaxseed tea
- Slippery elm tea with cream
- Goat’s milk
- Okra
- Egg whites
- Parsnip
- Sweet potatoes
- Cottage cheese
- Aloe vera juice (best of all)
No grapefruit should be eaten by stomach-troubled people.
If you are concerned with stomach ulcers, try Hanna’s carrot diet: Purchase a good quantity of organic carrots to be enjoyed in a variety of ways. Mash, puree, prepare a soup, eat raw or steamed but add no salt or butter to them; when cooking carrots, avoid aluminum of any kind, whether found in pots, pans, or foil. This diet of carrots is all you will eat for seven days. Twice daily you may have six ounces of raw carrot juice with two tablespoons of cream or six ounces of goat’s milk.
To decongest your stomach from mucus Hanna recommended the following: One glass fresh orange juice with the same amount of distilled water. Do not mix. First drink the orange juice then follow with the water. Do this as often as you want, ten times daily or so, with no other food taken. Follow this decongesting diet two days in a row, two to three times a year.
