Hanna shared so many recipes with us and many were not just for modern ailments! Sometimes women would request that Hanna share a home remedy for beauty and cellulite was at the top of the list. Here is what Hanna recommended:

Eggplant is an excellent home remedy for cellulite

“Eggplant is very useful for cellulite.  It first has to be sliced and placed in slightly salted water for about 20 minutes or more.  This will remove the bitterness.  The skin is extremely helpful.  Peel the eggplant one half inch thick.  Boil the peelings until done.  Season with kelp or dulse.  This is excellent for cellulite.”

“Sage, when added to bathwater is absorbed through the skin and fights fatty deposits from the inside out.  You may also use sage oil.” -Excerpt from New Book on Healing.

Linda Rector Page says “Cellulite is actually a combination of fat, water and trapped wastes beneath the skin- usually on otherwise thin women. When the body’s circulation and elimination process become impaired, connective tissue loses it’s strength.  Unmetabolized fats and wastes become trapped in the vulnerable cells just beneath the skin instead of being expelled through normal means.  Over a period of time these waste materials harden and form the puckering skin effect we know as cellulite.  Because it is unattached material, dieting and exercise alone can’t dislodge cellulite.  An effective program for cellulite release should be in four parts: 1) Stimulate elimination functions. 2) Increase circulation and metabolism. 3) Control excess fluid retention. 4) Re-establish connective tissue elasticity.” -Excerpt from Healthy Healing
